“My husband Steve and I just returned from a 9 day private tour of Budapest, Vienna, and Prague with 8 of our friends - transferring by train between each city. We are seasoned international travelers and it was one of the best trips we've taken -- all of the details were handled by Herbie, the owner of Check Europe. We stayed in quaint European hotels, enjoyed the local flavor at highly-rated dining establishments each city had to offer--with reservations made in advance by Herbie for our large party. We walked an average of 8 miles each day to fully experience the sights and sounds (our choice, we like the exercise, but Herbie arranged for a mini bus on the rainy day). At every meal, once the entrees arrived and were being enjoyed, Herbie walked around the table and checked to be sure everyone had what they need and liked what they ordered. He relates to travelers of all ages and genders and is friendly, patient, and goes out of his way to ensure all guests are getting out of the trip what they want (history lesson, shopping, time to relax, a specific kind of food, etc.). I cannot think of a single area where Herbie could have improved the experience for us and our guests, who also thoroughly enjoyed the trip and are ready to book Oktoberfest next year.”Amber and James, Dallas – Tour: Budapest-Vienna-Prague (August 2014)

“Thank you! We had a fabulous time. Jim and I appreciate all your hard work.” Jim and Ann Lancaster – England August 1-11, 2013

The Ireland-Prague-Barcelona trip in October 2012 was one of the best times of my life. We started in Dublin, and in three days, got to see many of the hot spots in Ireland, including Blarney Castle, Killarney National Park, the Dingle Peninsula, the Cliffs of Moher and as many rolling hills as you ever wanted to see. From there, we traveled to Prague, which was the most beautiful city that I’ve been to. We did a bar crawl and sampled many Czech beers, took a tour of Prag Castle and the city, and went to Central Europe’s largest nightclub. The final leg of our trip took us to Barcelona, where we stayed on Las Ramblas, took a tour of the many Gaudi buildings, took a city tour and more.

The trip was a fantastic mix of tourism, nightlife, and free time. Most days consisted of doing some tourism during the day, some little free time before dinner, dinner (most nights, dinner was included in the trip fee), and free time at night. Herbie was a fantastic tour guide. He had a million different facts about the places that we were going and knew all the local hotspots. I was impressed by how much energy he had. Some nights, he would be up drinking with us until 3 AM, and then be waking everyone up at 8, as chipper as ever.

Our group consisted of 12 people from ages 17-early 40s. I only knew one other person in the group, but within a few days, the group grew really close. I feel like I made some friends for life on the trip. I would highly recommend a Herbie tour to anyone thinking about taking a trip to Europe. You are not going to find the value, convenience, and great times anywhere else. I can’t wait for my next trip!”
