Sbasiba Travelers! This week full of contrast will show you the remains of the dictatorship Ceausescu’s with his communist mindset, the fantastic countryside in the Carpathian Mountains and the legend of Count Dracula. Let’s start in the middle of Romania, in Bucharest. It’s been a long time since I found a city so fascinating and weird at the same time. There are remains of little palaces in the middle of the city, next to communist concrete blocks that are neighbored by modern 5 star hotels with glass facades. We head right into the former King’s City, Brasov to see a totally different Romania. The German influence makes this city very organized with a cute main square and the black church. There’s no way around visiting Dracula’s castle in Bran where you can imagine what was going on after sunset. While in the Carpathian Mountains we’ll have to sample bear meat, yes bear. We continue to the World Culture City 2007, Sibiu, with its cute buildings and beautiful National Parks. Our final stop is once again Bucharest for shopping, styling and Dinner & Crime at the Hanul Manuc. |
